2. Give Your Audience a Feel of the Music (With Audio or YouTube Videos)

Your presentation is music linked, so why not use music, audio, or even YouTube music clips to your advantage? Give your audience a sense of your music or genre by inserting music in strategic parts of your presentation.

You could play music as people arrive, during breaks, a short snippet to intro a new section. You could even add a YouTube instructional video as a primary element of your presentation. When used correctly, it can be a useful tool to lighten up the mood and keep your audience's attention.

Common PowerPoint Questions Answered (FAQ)

What pairs well with a music PPT template? The answer is the knowledge you need to design and customize them confidently.

It's okay if you still have questions. Let's look at five of the most commonly asked questions and their answers:

1. What Apps Does PowerPoint Connect To?

Most apps are better together. One of my favorite pairs is PowerPoint and Excel. Use the latter to do data analysis and charts, then paste it into PowerPoint.

The key is to keep the two apps in sync so that you don't have to constantly rework both. Read this guide to see how:

2. Does PowerPoint Support Exports to Other Formats?

Let's say that you're sharing your presentation with others. They might not have PowerPoint, or you might not want them to see the complete file with all the underlying details like comments.

A great way to share is to export your PowerPoint as a video file. This works great with PPT background music too to set the stage. Let's learn how below:

3. Can You Print Your PowerPoint Presentation?

Don't think that PowerPoint is a digital-only tool. It's a mistake to leave your PPTX file only as a digital product.

Printing your music PPT template you found free takes practice. You need to ensure that you don't waste paper or ink. We've written a great tutorial that helps you print your PowerPoint in a way that maximizes your space. Learn how here:

4. What Are the Keys to PowerPoint Accessibility?

Accessibility matters. It means that more users can access your content and learn from it. Unfortunately, too many presenters make a PPTX file inaccessible.

With a limited amount of extra work, you can customize your music PPT template to include text and cues for accessibility. Learn more about accessibility in PowerPoint in our guide:

5. Does PowerPoint Work Well With Webinars?

Many of us find ourselves working from home more than ever. That means that we're joining—and maybe even presenting—in webinars.

Music presentation templates even work great in webinars. A great example is integrating a music PPT template on Zoom. Here's a great article that shows you how to use the apps together seamlessly.

Quick Tips For Better Lyric Slides – Part 1

Projecting lyrics may not always be the most exhilarating part of Church Media, but there’s no doubt that it provides a valuable service for those in the congregation. It’s particularly important for newcomers who are less likely to know the songs in your worship team’s repertoire. Because of this, it’s critical that we do our best to design our slides to be both functional and attractive. (Even if people don’t truly read the lyrics you’re displaying, they’re still likely to be distracted if your slides look all jacked up!)

As I’ve visited different churches and studied their media practices, I’ve noticed that it often isn’t  huge  mistakes that keep lyric slides from looking their best. Instead, it’s the little things that subtly stand out. (Sounds kind of like a  small foxes spoil the vine  sermon to me!) So, for the next several weeks, we’ll be discussing some quick tips that are super easy to implement, but will make a  big  difference in your Sunday morning media.

Stick To 2-4 Lines Per Slide

The quickest way to add confusion and distraction to your lyric slides is by having too many lines on the screen. It may be the easiest route for you because it requires less flipping through slides, but this lazy way out is not the way to go. Fill each slide with 2-4 lines max so that it’s easy for new singers to jump in at any time without having to do a word search on your screen. (This also makes it easier for people to close their eyes in prayer/worship and pick right back up when they open their eyes again.)

Lyrics_Ex-1 copy

Bully-free Slides

Some people describe this problem as “orphans and widows,” but I’ve always instructed my media volunteers to avoid having bullies on your slides. Simply put, don’t create small lines of text surrounded by large “bully” lines. While still keeping with the general flow of how the song is sung, arrange your slides to have fairly equal line lengths.

I love this!! Thanks for sharing!

Great post :) Thanks for the tips!!

song presentation example

When putting lyrics on slides I like to ensure that the lines flow with the song and where people will take a breath, where possible!

e.g. you could change the first slide set to read:

In death and in life I’m confident And covered by the power Of Your great love

A couple of questions: When you have to use a certain point size to ensure that people at the back can read the words, this affects how much text you can fit on a line. Do we lose lines to accomodate this? Or is it OK to go across the whole screen?

If your screens are low down is it OK to keep the words at the top, again for the people at the back to see them over everyone in front?

song presentation example

Hey there, David! I definitely agree about going with the flow of how your congregation sings the lyrics. It’s interesting because I tried to read your example as if I was singing the song the way that we normally do and it seemed very unnatural for me. I guess that just goes to show that you can sing songs differently in varying churches!

In regards to the question about text sizing—I’ve spent a fair amount of time on both accommodating the eyesight of elderly and designing slides how I’d prefer them. The “right” answer is to make your text comfortable for everyone, but I feel that how your slides look is just as important. Everyone can see ugly! I would try putting less text on each slide. That way, you can still look good while providing lyrics for the back row.

And, yes, it’s definitely okay to adjust your text position based on your screen position. Just remember to keep your margins consistent across all of your songs. This will make it seem that you actually meant to do this. It’s also good to do this with backgrounds with images at the bottom like this – http://centerlinenewmedia.com/products/view/2130

I hope that helps!

Great Help – Thanks. Can’t wait for the rest of the hints!

This is a great post. I’m gonna show this to some of my other team members. One other suggestion (and it’s only a suggestion) is to de-capitalize the first word of all the lines. There’s really no logical reason as to why the first word of each line is capitalized (other than that Microsoft Word made that an automatic default many years ago). Whether prose or poetry, it makes no sense for a word like “The” to be capitalized right in the middle of a phrase. Because all music is poetry, my team typically eliminates all capitalization except for proper nouns. It works wonderfully!

song presentation example

Thanks for this post Kendall, always great to see examples from other churches. One thing I’d love your view on is how you decide which part of the slide is capitalized? It seems in these examples it is every new line, but do you follow that train of thought if the line begins with a conjunction such as “and”, “but”, “so”, etc. (or words like “if”, “the”, “as”) ?

Our two church plants do it differently, one includes all the punctuation and so capitalizes words that are at the beginning of new sentences, and another doesn’t capitalize anything on the slide besides proper nouns like Lord, I, You (when referring to Jesus).

I’m always interested in hearing suggestions, thanks again for your post and hard work on this blog!

Hi, David. Most of the time I will leave the conjunctions lowercase – even if they are at the beginning of the line. However, if it feels weird, then I’ll just follow the original model.

I’m pretty against using punctuation on slides. I’ll occasionally use exclamation points and question marks, or maybe a comma to separate, but that’s about it.

Thanks for the comment!

song presentation example

Thank you! That is great advice. It is the small formatting details that make a great slide.

song presentation example

What if you’re in a church that is used to hymnals and you’ve recently moved to a blended style? Would you remove the periods and comma’s that everyone is used to? These help make things more clear, particularly for the older members of the congregation. Yes, it adds probably 4-5 minutes, but I’d rather take that 4-5 minutes to make sure many in my congregation can worship un-interrupted.

I’ve also heard it said that some teachers can’t stand having no punctuation… why do something that makes some people feel bothered? To me, punctuation makes it look cleaner.

There’s other things like this past week we sand the song, “There is Power in the Blood.” In that song it says in the chorus, “There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder working pow’r, in the blood, of the Lamb! There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder working pow’r, in the precious blood of the Lamb!” For someone who doesn’t know the song, putting comma’s helps them understand this is where we break. We don’t sing it all together in one continuous line, rather, there are breaks throughout the song.

song presentation example

I just joined a new church and they only have three or four people so it’s important for the congregation to sing however it’s hard to follow the song because the words on the screen do not show when there are pauses or some words are accentuated and we didn’t know that… It’s very confusing and people won’t sing because we can’t follow the flow??

song presentation example

Awesome suggestions! Thank you for sharing! We use all capitals (you don’t have to decide if it should or should not be capitalized) and no punctuation. We try and have no more than 2-5 lines per slide, and we try to have a new line where we naturally pause in the song. For better visibility we decided to use just a plain black background and white letters. The Calbri font seems to work the best for us.

All great stuff, Debi!

song presentation example

Where do you guys land on justification? Our church currently justifies lyrics to the left, but I’m considering switching to the center. Thoughts?

Hi, Michelle –

I vote centered 99.9% of the time. The only time I go left is when I have a strong visual on the right.

song presentation example

Recently, I took over setting up, organizing ProPresenter and creating the song presentations from the person who used to do it. Looking back at the song library from the past few years, I’m noticing that many of the songs don’t have any punctuation at all, such as commas in the middle of a line to set off phrases and direct address. Looking around, most lyrics I see don’t use commas at all – not just at the end of lines. Is there a reason to not use any commas, etc., even if in the middle of a line?

Hey, Jonathan. Good question. I only use punctuation on my slides when it’s absolutely necessary for the reader. It’s just cleaner that way. Hope that helps!

song presentation example

Thanks for this, currently 5 am and I’m looking through my line up and for some reason I felt like it didn’t look right, so it’s nice to see how others set theirs up. I also only use commas when I really think I have to. Like right now I have Breakthrough and on one line I have “there will be breakthrough, there will be breakthrough” in this case it looked off without the comma. Clearly I wrestled with the decision ;)

Thanks for the comment! I’m happy to hear that this article helped. :)

Great post, but I’m grappling with the issue of vertical alignment, specifically ‘align top’ versus ‘align middle’. The dilemma is that if you follow the natural phrasing of a stanza, a chorus, or a bridge, you may have any combination of 1, 2 or 3 line blocks following one another. (We maximise on 3 lines for a segment.) I contend that it is most pleasing to the eye (and brain) if the text always starts vertically in the same position, and this can only be achieved with ‘align top’. ‘Align middle’ gives the appearance of the text shifting up and during the progression of the song. I have seen media presenters rework the way lines are grouped to fix the number of lines in a segment to (for example, to 2). I think subconsciously they are fixing the number of lines to achieve vertical consistency, but don’t realise the underlying motive. The eyes and the brain seem much calmer when the text of a subsequent segment is vertically the same as the previous segment. What do you think. I don’t think you’ve tackled this issue in your piece! Especially in this day and age, even a workout is just not complete without a playlist. We listen to melodies at all times and in all places. With faint memories of lullabies sung to us in our childhood to kick-starting our mornings with the chirping of birds, music is weaved in every fabric of mankind from the very beginning.

“Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.” - Maria Augusta von Trapp

English 2150: Words and Music

Song presentation group assignment.

In this project, you will research the historical context for a song responding to a specific social issue. In groups, you will research the song’s meaning, figure out what social issues it is addressing (there could be more than one) and then conduct additional research into the issue spoken about in the song. Each group will write a short report on their findings and make a 5-minute presentation to the rest of the class on Zoom. For presentations, you may use google slides (or any other presentation platform) and it is your choice of whether to include parts of the song or not as you present.

Step 1: Meet with your group during class time on 2/04 and select a song to research.

Choose from the following options:

“ The Story of OJ” by Jay-Z

“Formation” by Beyoncé

“Hurricane” by Bob Dylan (also listen to Ani DiFranco’s version )

“Hello Birmingham” by Ani DiFranco

“Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell

“Sunday Bloody Sunday” by U2

“The Revolution will not be Televised” by Gil-Scott Heron

“Changes” by Tupac Shakur

“Glad to be Gay” by Tom Robinson

“Sign “O” the Times” by Prince

“This is America” by Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino

“Glory” by John Legend and Common

“Alright” by Kendrick Lamar

Research the song you selected and discover the context for its writing: during what time and in what place was it written? Does it seem to be responding to a specific incident, or a more general issue? Some of the songs deal with multiple issues—what are all the social issues you are able to locate in the lyrics? How does the music (not the lyrics) contribute to the storytelling? What approach does the song take—does it have an angry tone? An uplifting one? Which line stands out the most to you? Why? Now discuss whether you find the song effective—why or why not? Did you learn anything from listening to the song? What about from the research you did? Finally, who do you feel is the intended audience for this song? How can you tell?

Write 500-800 words about your song’s history, formatted in the usual format:

Times New Roman

1” margins on all sides

Double spaced

Page numbers

A proper heading

Meet with your group on Thursday, 2/04 (and at other times as needed) and come up with a 5-minute presentation for the rest of the class. Presentations will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16th. The document you create should be emailed to me before class on 02/16 as a Google doc.

How this will be graded and how work can be divided:

I will give each group a grade on their report + presentation. You can decide how to break up the work (for example, if you have two people take the lead on the report writing and two others take the lead on the presentation, that is fine). I will also poll each member of the group afterward for an honest response to how evenly distributed the work was—I don’t want one or two people doing all the work for the whole group, for example. If there is a strong disparity in effort, I will adjust individual grades accordingly.

Analyzing a Song – So Simple Every Student Can Do It

analyzing-song-lyrics-2

December 13, 2022 //  by  Lindsay Ann //   2 Comments

Sharing is caring!

analyzing-a-song

English teachers, teaching your students how to analyze song lyrics needs to be a “go-to” strategy, a step toward deeper analysis of more complex texts .

Whether you’re teaching poetry, persuasive essays, or some other writing unit, analyzing song lyrics will give your students an opportunity to look at the different ways that language can be used to capture emotions and tell stories .

This close reading process will also help improve their vocabulary and grammar skills while they are having fun!

Here are some tips on how to teach students to analyze song lyrics so that they can gain valuable writing knowledge through a familiar medium they love!

Analysis of Song Lyrics

Taylor Swift makes analyzing song lyrics in the classroom easy peasy. Like her or not, you can count on her to write songs that tell a story, are layered in deep meaning, and littered with Easter eggs that are fun to try and collect (even for the non-Swifties).

Taylor Swift’s “ Anti Hero” is a fun student-friendly song to bring into the classroom to practice analysis skills.

With callbacks to songs on other albums in lines like “I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser,” you can challenge students to analyze the development of a theme across multiple texts (helloooo higher level DOK and those really tricky to meet standards!).

Lyrics like “I’m the problem; it’s me” coupled with the title setup an opportunity to teach the concept of anti-hero (I especially like the idea of teaching about anti-heroes after teaching about the hero’s journey) and challenging students to analyze how Swift herself could be seen as this archetype by analyzing other songs and conducting online research.

“Anti Hero” also has what appear to be two references to pop culture ( 30 Rock and Knives Out ) that had even the swiftest of Swifties stumped online. These references are an accessible way to introduce the idea of allegory.

Taylor has really teed up the song analysis practice in English classrooms to be endless with so many rabbit holes to go down at every turn!

music-analysis

Song Meaning “Hallelujah”

Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” has a deep meaning making it a popular choice for teaching song analysis.  The meaning of Hallelujah is about someone who was deeply in love and is mourning the guilt of the loss of that love .

The song can teach students how to analyze lyrics by pointing out that even though it doesn’t say so explicitly, this is a song about a break-up .

They can also learn other aspects of reading literature, like examining tone and form. Analyzing song lyrics enables students to apply what they’ve learned as they read other texts or songs.

After reading a poem or listening to a song’s lyrics, students should be able to answer questions like:

  • Who is speaking?
  • How do you know?
  • What do you think the speaker’s feelings are?
  •  What does this tell you about their personality?
  • Do these feelings make sense for the situation?

analyzing-a-song

Good Songs to Analyze

When choosing good songs to analyze remember these three things:

  • Choose a song that tells a story
  • A song with a deep meaning or theme that challenges students’ inferential thinking skills works best
  • Pick songs that students will know and be excited to listen to (that means that while “We Didn’t Start the Fire” is technically a great song for analysis, it might not be the most engaging for your students)

Here are some songs for teaching song analysis that will not only help you teach important analysis skills but also engage and delight your students:

  • “ Pray for Me ” by the Weeknd ft. Kendrick Lamar
  • “ Thunder ” by Imagine Dragons
  • “ Bohemian Rhapsody ” by Queen (this one is suitable for older students)
  • “ Born This Way ” by Lady Gaga
  • “ Getting Older ” by Billie Eilish
  • “ Drivers License ” by Olivia Rodrigo
  • “ This is America ” by Childish Gambino/Donald Glover
  • “ Matilda ” by Harry Styles
  • “ Victoria’s Secret ” by Jax (does have some profanity – I’ve linked the “clean” version)
  • “ Vacation ” by The Dirty Heads (does say “shit”)

analyzing-a-song

How to Analyze a Song

Teaching students how to analyze a song is similar to teaching poetry or literary analysis, but using songs disguises the learning as a fun activity making it really engaging and accessible for all learners.

Start by having students listen to their song twice .

  • Instruct them to listen through for the first time just for enjoyment and to follow along with the printed lyrics (or digital if you have a way for students to access the lyrics online).
  • Then have them listen a second time but this time have them highlight and circle words and phrases that they think are important and interesting.

Challenge students to consider the following questions during their second time listening and to annotate the lyrics as they go:

  • Who’s telling the story? What’s their perspective? How do they feel? What’s making them feel that way?
  • What’s the mood of the song? Do the lyrics or the music contribute more to the mood?
  • What figurative language do you notice in the lyrics? Why might the songwriter have chosen to include that figurative language?
  • What could the songwriter be saying about human nature or society through their lyrics? How could you write a theme statement about these lyrics?

Once you’ve gotten your students started with the analysis process, make sure to involve your students. Ask them what they notice and use their insights to build discussion. Have them write a summary of the song or write a detailed analysis or work on a more creative, visual response.

Song & Poem Analysis Paired Text Lesson Plans

Make close reading, textual analysis and literary analysis of songs (and poems)  less intimidating  with these detailed, CCSS-aligned  close reading song analysis lesson plans for paired texts . Integrated close reading, text-based writing, speaking, listening, and inquiry skills, make these lessons both  engaging and worthwhile.

To help you save prep time, I’ve put together some awesome lessons for you HERE , including:

  • Carrie Underwood’s song “Cry Pretty” & Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ song “Growing Up”
  • William Ernest Henley’s poem “Invictus” & Imagine Dragons’ song “Whatever it Takes”
  • Maya Angelou’s poem “Still I Rise” and Tupac’s song “Still I Rise”
  • Stephen Dobyns’ poem “Loud Music” and Incubus’ song “Dig”
  • “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift
  • “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day and “Brick by Boring Brick” by Paramore
  • “Hotel California” by the Eagles and “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin
  • Protest Songs
  • “Mad World” by Tears for Fears and “A Million Dreams” sung by Pink / The Greatest Showman

Wrapping Up

When students analyze songs, they think about its overall impact.

What makes this song great, and why do you like it? What is it about this song that makes it stand out?

Thinking through these ideas with easily-accessible texts makes transferring their skills and knowledge to literature (ya know, the kind with the capital L ) easier.

They’ll have practice analyzing craft moves like figurative language and allegory, but they’ll also have practice with those more complex reading strategies like making inferences and connections .

Have a song you think would be perfect to analyze in the classroom? I’d love to hear about it! Drop me a comment below to share!

Don’t Stop Me Now can serve as a self-serving prophecy at big gatherings. 3. Let’s Go Crazy – Prince

Let’s Go Crazy opens with a solemn-sounding interlude, yet quickly switches up the tempo. The chorus commands that listeners let loose and enjoy their time on Earth, or, in this instance, the meeting. This Prince hit is a classic, and is fully capable of stirring a crowd.

4. Counting Stars – One Republic

Counting Stars starts slow and somber, but quickly picks up speed and volume. The lyrics are equal part melancholy and hopeful, and strike a balance between dreaming and doing. The musical backing is fast and epic and inspires a sense of urgency.

5. I Got You (I Feel Good) – James Brown

James Brown’s classic “I Got You” is quite literally good mood music. The underlying sax adds a playful note to the melody, and Brown’s loud declarations of “I feel good!” inspire the audience to feel the same way. This tune is an oldie yet a goodie with cross-generational appeal.

6. Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves

Walking on Sunshine is one of the best work meeting songs. The song is bright and stimulating, and it is tough not to crack a smile when this tune plays. You would be hard-pressed to find a more energetic, crowd-pleasing song to kick off the festivities or revive the excitement mid-event.

7. Can’t Stop the Feeling – Justin Timberlake

Can’t Stop the Feeling provided the soundtrack for one of the most fun Oscar openings in recent years, and this song might just be the perfect opening to your conference as well. The song is happy and brimming with hope and enthusiasm, and can set a tone of openness for your gathering.

8. Lovely Day – Bill Withers

Lovely Day can be effective for setting the mood in morning meetings and can encourage a positive mindset. The repetition of “lovely day” becomes a sort of mantra that convinces listeners that all’s right with the world, and the musical accompaniment perfectly fits the theme of the song.

9. 24k Magic – Bruno Mars

Lists like these often suggest “Uptown Funk,” but this Bruno Mars hit is just as worthy of blasting from meeting room speakers. Let Bruno kick off your conference with his command of “Let’s set this party off right,” and watch how affirming the line, “I’m a dangerous man with some money in my pocket” can be.

10. I’m Coming Out – Diana Ross

I’m Coming Out is one of the classic conference music openers. The song is about making your presence known to the world. This bold declaration can give the gathering a greater sense of purpose, and the joyful tune helps build a sense of camaraderie within the room.

11. Get Lucky- Daft Punk ft Pharrell

Get Lucky blends a quick, electronic backing with smooth vocals to create a happy party song guaranteed to add fun to any meeting. Whether accompanying an entrance or backing the slideshow, Get Lucky can bring extra life into any meeting.

12. It’s My Life – Bon Jovi

It’s My Life is an ode to autonomy. This rock ballad is all about living life on your own terms and seizing opportunities. The song’s heavy guitars and powerful message are massively motivating, and the chorus may prompt a spontaneous singalong.

13. Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Five tips to make great Music PowerPoint Templates for 2021

Are you new to create music PowerPoint templates and not sure how to go about it? Maybe you’ve done some music presentations, but think you can further improve them?

Have a look at these five simple tips that’ll change the way you approach creating presentations. They’ll help take your presentation to the next level.

1. Start with a PowerPoint Template (and customize it)

Let’s face it, and time is money. Rather than sending too much time on designing a music template from scratch, why not leave it to the experts? A suitable well-designed premium pre-built allows you to work smart and fast. The best templates come with good layout designs, icons, infographics, and animations that suit your theme.

A professionally designed template would also include sections that’ll spark inspiration and help guide you in the creation process. Add your content, and you’re ready to impress.

2. Give your audience a feel of the music (with audio or YouTube videos)

Your presentation is music-linked, so why not use music, audio, or even YouTube music clips to your advantage? Give your audience a sense of your music or genre by inserting songs in strategic parts of your presentation.

You could play music as people arrive, during breaks, a short snippet to intro a new section. You could even add a YouTube instructional video as a primary element of your presentation. When used correctly, it can be a valuable tool to lighten up the mood and keep your audience’s attention.

Impress your audience with an engaging visual and auditory presentation.

3. Fewer words, more visuals

Wordy slides are hard to follow and make your presentation dull. Instead, use graphic images, photos, videos, and infographics to help you cut unnecessary words.

Check out the thousands of music-themed photos. These images come fully licensed for unlimited use. So, you don’t have to worry about any usage issues. All you’ve got to do is pick and choose suitable images and add them to your music PowerPoint templates.

Most premium music templates come with music icons and graphics. But this could be lacking in a free-to-download music template. In addition, original photos and pictures will impress your audience and help hold their attention throughout your presentation.

Not sure how to include music, audio, or even YouTube videos in PowerPoint? Check out these tutorials:

4. Leave plenty of white space

Think minimalist when creating your presentation. Use fewer words, uncluttered visuals, and loads of white space. Leave plenty of white space around your text and other elements on every slide. This strategy will make your presentation more visually appealing and more accessible to the following.

5. Use larger font sizes

Make it easy for your audience to follow your music PowerPoint templates from anywhere in the room. If your audiences can’t read your slides, chances are they’ll be zoning out very soon. They won’t be following your presentation.

A good font size range to follow is:

• headings and subheading: between 32pts to 48 pts

• body text: between 28pts to 32pts

If this music presentation is business-oriented and you’re presenting to potential investors, look at the online guide below.

Top 10 Careers in the Music Business

There’s more to a career in music than just performance — it can involve one or many disciplines. The more versatile you are, the more opportunities you will have to work in the music business.

Breaking into the music business is more complex than in other industries. As a result, competition is high, but if you hone your craft, network with the right people, and put in the hard work, here are some music business careers to consider and what compensation you can expect out of them.

1. Music Producer

Want to be a jack of all trades? A music producer understands both the creative and commercial side of the business and develops relationships with both musicians and the record label. A producer should create an environment that enables artists to create and express themselves. A producer also assists an artist’s recording project with many details, including choosing which material to record, interfacing with the recording engineer, adapting arrangements, balancing the recording budget, and influencing mixes.

2. Recording Engineer

An audio engineer is responsible for capturing sound and manipulating it in the studio. You’ll deal with both analog and digital audio, compressors, microphones, and signal flow—and typically combine both traditional and tech-savvy recording techniques to record music. You could also be responsible for organizing recording sessions and repairing any technical problems when they arise. And, sometimes, you may catch the brunt of the producer or musicians if something goes wrong in recording that magic take!

3. Session Musician

As a session musician, you back and perform on another musician’s album or perform various acts on stage. This means you have the freedom to dabble in multiple styles, genres, and sounds. You’ll interact, meet, and form relationships with a heap of other musicians. You may be asked to contribute to a recording session or join a band on tour.

4. Artist Manager

An artist manager exists to create opportunities, connect, and propel the musical act forward in the music business. You have to wholeheartedly believe in your artist and help them build a sustainable and robust career through planning, organization, directing, and negotiating.

5. Tour Manager

As a tour manager, you’ll be involved in every aspect of a band’s career on the road. You’re the behind-the-scenes mastermind who has hands in every piece of transportation, accommodation, scheduling, and finances of a tour. You’ll make things run smoothly for everyone involved. You’ll need to have self-motivation and be okay with shouldering the band’s responsibilities—especially the financial ones.

6. Music Teacher

Teaching can take on a variety of forms. You could teach at a school, a music shop, or conduct independently as a private instructor. Besides, you could teach theory or a specific instrument. You’ll also have the freedom to choose which age range you’d like to introduce—each one comes with its advantages and obstacles. If you want to encourage people, share knowledge, and practice patients, a career teaching music could be right for you.

7. Booking Agent

Your job here is to get the band onstage. Booking agents facilitate many logistics around live performances, including securing concert venues, negotiating deals, arranging technical equipment, and hospitality. In addition, you’ll work closely with management (of the artists and the platforms) and event promoters and determine what an artist’s touring schedule will look like.

8. Music Publicist

A music publicist works closely with media outlets, marketers, and venues. Publicists ensure that the media cover their musicians’ concerts, releases, and announcements to positively feed their public perception while increasing awareness of the artist.

9. Composer

Composers aren’t just tied down to the classical music genre; they can write for film, TV, and video games. They can also write and arrange recorded or live music across genres. However, regardless of which avenue you wish to pursue, you must have a masterful understanding of the music themes. In addition, you must play one or many instruments and have the technical capabilities to capture your compositions effectively.

10. Music Arranger

A music arranger is responsible for taking written music and reorganizing it to achieve a new sound or goal. For example, you might have a client ask you to take a pop piece, add a Latin rhythm, shorten or lengthen a bit, or change the key. Arranging is a specialized skill, and those who pursue it can work as a freelancer or for a band or music organization.

You know the feeling when you're at a presentation, but you can't pay attention to what's being said because the music is so distracting? Choosing the right music is key to making a presentation better.

What is presentation music?

What music is good for presentation, powerpoint music, how to download music for powerpoint, how to add music to a powerpoint presentation, how to make playing music across slides in powerpoint, where can i download free presentation music, can i use copyrighted music in my presentation.

Making the right impression is a powerful marketing tool; presenters sometimes use music to connect with the audience immediately. Presentation music comes in many different genres, but any type will be more effective if it is related to the topic of the presentation.

The music you choose for your presentation can do many things for your audience - it can lighten the mood, drive excitement, or even set a pace. The key is to choose the appropriate music for your presentation and have it play at an acceptable volume.

PowerPoint is one of the most widely used presentation tools. The music playing in the background helps make a presentation more fun than it would be without the music, but there's often confusion over how to set up the audio track properly.

There are two basic file types you'll need to know - MP3s and WAVs. An MP3 is a compressed copy of an audio track that can be downloaded quickly. A WAV, or Waveform Audio File, is a digital format that supports higher quality, uncompressed audio, meaning it takes longer to download.

Both formats work in PowerPoint, but your choice depends on the type of presentation and how much music you want to include. To download music you need to add liked tracks to the Shopping cart, proceed to checkout and complete your payment. Download music instantly from the My Music > Tracks page.

  • Select the slide you want to add music.
  • On the Insert tab, click the Audio button.
  • Select the option 'Audio on My PC..'
  • Find and select your music files and click the Insert button.
  • Now you can set up a volume level for music.
  • Click on a sound icon to enable the Audio Tools panel.
  • Set on the checkbox 'Play Across Slides' so the music will play continuously throughout your presentation.

You can download free presentation music from the Free music page. Use free music in your presentations, slideshows, and videos without copyright concerns.

You can't just take a popular hit and put it into your presentation. You need to right to use music in your production. Purchase and download royalty-free presentation music by Melody Loops to use in your PowerPoint or Keynote presentation.

How to choose the right background music for your business presentation

You’ve worked hard on your pitch deck. You’ve carefully chosen the right images, colors, and text that will hopefully get your investors interested. Whether you are sending your pitch deck or presenting in front of an audience, choosing the right background track will really make your presentation shine!

We have outlined three tips below to help you choose the track that will drive your pitch home and strike an emotional chord with investors.

1. Keep a Steady Pace

Choose a track that glides along without a lot of fanfare. A steady pace will draw your audience in and help them focus on the content of each slide. Choose music that is gentle, positive and bright, with some moments that pause, then continue the dynamic.

2. Tone is Important

Setting the right tone that relates to your idea will convey clarity and credibility to your audience. Whether the tone of your pitch is powerful and engaging or gentle and reassuring, the background music should match.

3. Make an Emotional Connection

When pitching your product to investors, let your passion shine through. Your pitch deck should have all of the elements of a great story. If your presentation has a kick-in-the-pants spirit, the right background music will accentuate that.

Choosing the Best Music for Corporate Event Presentations

Making a presentation in front of a corporate event audience can be daunting. How can you get your audience’s attention over the conversation and buzz? How do you really make an impact? One way is to add a background track to your slide presentation. If you are presenting a slide show at a business dinner, conference, or trade show, read on to find out how to choose the best background music.

1. Taking the Subtle Approach

Set the tone for the occasion by adding minimalist, even-toned music— more of a backdrop that your audience can focus their ears on. Subtle music exudes a calm atmosphere. The right track can be barely noticeable but will still affect the audience in subtle ways.

2. High Energy Approach

If your slide show has a high-energy, celebratory feel, choose tracks that engage your audience to feel that. Steady driving drums, danceable synth lines, and that dreamy backdrop give an air of brightness and positivity to your corporate presentation.
