How to submit audio/video recordings to an Assessment (Students)
Instructors may include an Audio or Video question on an assessment that allows you to record audio/video directly within the assessment and include it in your submission.
Recording in assessments is not supported on the Schoology mobile apps. Students should submit video/audio recordings via the mobile browser or desktop.
Insert Audio Recording
Step 1 — Click the Record icon to begin recording.
Depending on your browser settings, you may be prompted to enable the microphone. Click Allow to continue with the recording:
You may pause and resume the recording at any time. Audio can be recorded up to a maximum of 10 minutes. Your instructor may also have set a time limit less than the maximum duration.

Step 2 — Click the Stop icon once you have finished your recording. You may play back the recording.

If you wish to re-record and discard the current recording, click the Record icon. You will be prompted to confirm to replace the existing recording.
Step 3 — Click Next to proceed to the next question or Review if you have completed all questions.
Insert Video Recording
Depending on your browser settings, you may be prompted to enable the microphone and camera. Click Allow to continue with the recording:
The recording will begin after the countdown. You may pause and resume the recording at any time. Video can be recorded up to a maximum of 10 minutes. Your instructor may also have set a time limit less than the maximum duration. The time limit is displayed in the upper right of the recording screen.

Step 2 — Click Stop when you have completed your recording. You may play back the recording.
Review and Submit Assessment
Step 1 — Click Review to review your answers.
Step 2 — Click Finish when you have completely reviewed your answers.
Step 3 — Click Yes to submit your assessment attempt. Click No if you need to continue a review of your attempt.
Since the Audio and Video questions are subjective question types, your grades are not displayed automatically. Grades for completed assessments with these subjective question types will appear in your Grades once your instructor reviews your submission and enters a score.
Please note, these errors can depend on your browser setup.

Before submitting an assignment, consider reviewing assignment information, such as the assignment description and rubric, if any.
Please be aware that any attachments added as part of a graded assignment submission are also copied to your user files.

Submitting An Assignment in Schoology

Here is a list of steps that can be used to submit an assignment on Schoology. Note: There are multiple ways to create/submit on Schoology.
Step 1: Click on the Assignment in Schoology
Step 2: Click the “Add a Submission” button
Step 3: Choose the method you wish to use.
- Upload – Click the appropriate button to upload a file or create an audio/video recording to upload to Schoology
- Create – Use the Text Editor to add text, graphics, or other media (such as links to work created online!). You can save your progress as a draft or submit when it is completed.
- Resources – Grab a file that already exists in your resources to submit. Choose Apps on the left side to get to your OneDrive and submit a file from there!
Step 4: Click to Submit or Import the document when it is completed.
