A&E Announces Details Of Biography: WWE Legends Season 3 Airing Next Month

A&E has announced full details for the upcoming third season of Biography: WWE Legends, which returns next month on February 19. 

WWE’s programming on the network will also include a second season of WWE Rivals.

A&E NETWORK AND WWE® RETURN TO THE RING WITH ALL-NEW SEASONS OF “BIOGRAPHY: WWE LEGENDS” AND “WWE RIVALS” BEGINNING SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19

SERIES CONTINUE TO EXPLORE THE MOST ICONIC WWE SUPERSTARS AND STORIES AS PART OF A&E AND WWE’S ONGOING PROGRAMMING PARTNERSHIP

New York, NY – January 5, 2023 – WWE on A&E returns this winter beginning Sunday, February 19 with the season three premiere of “Biography: WWE Legends” at 8pm ET/PT followed by the season two premiere of “WWE Rivals” at 10pm ET/PT. Airing back-to-back each Sunday, the series continue to explore the lives and careers of some of the most iconic WWE Superstars through unprecedented access, interviews, and footage. The premieres continue A&E and WWE’s ongoing partnership featuring 130 hours of new, premium WWE-themed series and specials commissioned by the network to air exclusively on A&E platforms and distributed worldwide by A+E Networks.

Under the award-winning “Biography” banner, each two-hour episode of “Biography: WWE Legends” continues to tell the intimate, personal stories behind the success of some of WWE’s most memorable Legends and events. Through rare archival footage and in-depth interviews, each episode explores a different Legend and their immense impact in the WWE universe and on pop culture. The season premiere will explore the infamous group NWO with other Legends featured this season including Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Chyna, Dusty Rhodes, Kane, and Iron Sheik.

Following “Biography: WWE Legends,” season two of “WWE Rivals” returns with actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. leading a roundtable discussion of WWE luminaries to delve into the storylines and dynamic characters behind the epic battles that built the WWE. Each one-hour episode features archival footage from WWE’s library as well as interviews with the Legends involved and the Superstars that watched these rivalries unfold. The season begins with examining Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, and will explore other rivalries including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart, Undertaker vs. Mankind, The Rock vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Batista, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels.

The action continues later this year with additional WWE-focused premieres. In addition to a new slate of “Biography: WWE Legends,” episodes premiering this spring, this summer even more WWE stories will be featured in season two of “WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures.” This season, WWE Legends Booker T, Mick Foley, and Lita lead the search for WWE’s most iconic missing memorabilia.

A&E's "Biography: WWE Legends" Full Schedule Revealed

The full schedule for A&E's "Biography: WWE Legends" series has been revealed, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer . The series will tell the stories of eight WWE Hall of Famers, beginning on Sunday, April 18 at 8pm ET.

Each episode will air for two hours, and will serve as the lead-in to new episodes of the WWE Most Wanted Treasures series from A&E.

Below is the full schedule for the Biography series:

A&E worked with WWE Studios on the series.

A&E Biography: WWE Legends returns in July, list of subjects to be covered

A&E’s Biography: WWE Legends will be returning in July with the network revealing the subjects that will be covered.

After a series of Biography episodes on past WWE talent aired in 2021, A&E and WWE announced an expanded partnership this past March.

The expanded multi-year agreement would include new episodes of ‘Biography’ and ‘Most Wanted Treasures’, as well as a new series called ‘WWE Rivals’.

The next set of ‘Biography’ editions will kick off on Sunday, July 10 th with an episode focusing on The Undertaker. That will be followed by the first episode of ‘WWE Rivals’ and an after-show called ‘WWE Smack Talk’.

The two series will air back-to-back on Sunday nights.

Additional episodes of ‘Biography’ will include ones dedicated to Kurt Angle, Lex Luger, Edge, Bill Goldberg, D-Generation X, The Bella Twins, Rey Mysterio, and WrestleMania 1.

Cody Rhodes announced upon his return to WWE that he would serve as an executive producer for an episode of ‘Biography’ covering his father but was not listed in the reel that A&E released on Wednesday.

A&E ‘Biography: WWE Legends’ Documentaries Returning to DVD – Another New Release for 2023

The A&E “Biography: WWE Legends” documentaries are returning to DVD in 2023!

Not only will January 24th, 2023 see the release of The Best of Attitude Era Royal Rumble to the US (via Warner Bros.), “Biography: WWE Legends Volume 3” will hit stores the very same day (this one via Lionsgate).

Last time around, the A&E documentaries were split over two DVD sets, however Volume 3 looks to pack the latest documentaries into one set. The WWE legends that received a special this year were: Undertaker, Goldberg, the Bellas, Kurt Angle, Lex Luger, D-Generation X, Edge, and Rey Mysterio. All of these will make it to Home Video.

Early information suggests this to be a 5-disc DVD set, which by our count leaves more than enough room for the additional documentary on WrestleMania 1, the non-Superstar feature from the series — it’s logical therefore to suggest WM1 will be included here too. The near 13 hour runtime stated on Amazon would support this theory, we just can’t fully confirm it yet.

WWE will release Crown Jewel 2022 on DVD this coming Tuesday to fans in the US, following later this month to the UK. The first sighting of the DVD comes via an eBay seller with early copies available. The photos confirm the freebie inside will be another sticker.

Crown Jewel is a 2-disc DVD set with about 1 hour and 20 minutes of bonus material featured on that second disc! The extras includes the Press Conference held prior to the event and select moments and matches from RAW and SmackDown episodes leading into Crown Jewel.

I enjoyed the first two volumes on DVD. I have no interest in the Bellas, but the others I am interested in.

Any news on if WWE Rivals will also get a release on dvd?

It just dawned on me, if they’re going the route of an all in one set, that means there shouldn’t be manufacturing errors this time. (Such as Volume 1 case including volume 2 discs) I didn’t even get the previous volumes until recently because of that error. And so you knew you were getting the right discs with volume 1, they put a yellow sticker on that one’s barcode, which is placed on the outer plastic of the case, so peeling it off wasn’t a hassle.

Does anyone know if ”W.W.E EVIL” is coming out on d.v.d ?

People talk about the UK exclusives as if we’re getting great stuff currently, but it’s largely just been repackaged Attitude Era and Undertaker double-dip sh*t for a while now. Would be nice if we got the A&E Biographies instead.

Don’t get me wrong, I know in the past, years ago, the UK got some great exclusives that the US missed out on, but not so much lately.

I was hoping for this and it looks like I’m getting my wish. I wondered how they were gonna do it since there were 9 documentaries as opposed to 8 this time around, which would’ve made it 5 discs total as the article suggested. But to know they’re doing an all in one set, I’m shocked given that first season was split into two volumes and since it seems 1 and 2 disc sets seem to be the trend these days, but I’m still glad they’re doing it this way.

Learn the never-before-heard story of the man behind WWE’s greatest character of all time–The Undertaker. Growing up in Texas, Mark Calaway loved wrestling so much he gave up a college basketball career to learn the ropes and became the most notorious villain in WWE history. However, Goldberg returned to the squared circle winning his second Universal Championship in front of his proud son before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

The Bella Twins

Get ready for some twin magic. This episode chronicles Brie and Nikki’s journey from waitresses to WWE Superstars and pop culture icons. Success in sports got the Bellas through a difficult childhood and helped them survive personal traumas. That competitive spirit led them to a groundbreaking career in wrestling, capturing the Divas Championship and satisfying their Bella Army with their hit reality shows. The Twins are still kicking ass as moms, entrepreneurs, and as WWE Hall of Famers.

This episode tells the incredible story of 1996 Olympic gold medalist and four-time WWE Champion, Kurt Angle. Angle’s unparalleled competitive streak and physical power made him one of the most successful WWE Superstars of all time, beating some of the great Superstars of The Attitude Era. But years of injuries and multiple broken necks drove Angle to a pain pill dependency that almost took the wrestling machine out. With the help of his family, Angle recovered from addiction and in 2017 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

This episode shares the story of WWE Legend Lex Luger–The Total Package.
