My Buying Guide on ‘Phd Weight Loss Reviews’

As someone who has struggled with weight loss for years, I understand the frustration of trying out different products and not seeing any results. That’s why I decided to share my experience with Phd Weight Loss and how it has helped me achieve my weight loss goals.

What is Phd Weight Loss?

Phd Weight Loss is a supplement that claims to help individuals lose weight by boosting their metabolism and suppressing their appetite. It contains a blend of natural ingredients such as green tea extract, caffeine, and chromium picolinate.

How does it work?

The combination of ingredients in Phd Weight Loss works together to increase the body’s metabolism, leading to faster burning of calories. It also helps control cravings by suppressing the appetite, making it easier to stick to a healthy diet plan.

Why choose Phd Weight Loss?

I have tried numerous weight loss supplements in the past, but Phd Weight Loss stood out for several reasons:

  • Natural ingredients: I prefer using products that contain natural ingredients rather than chemicals. The fact that Phd Weight Loss is made from natural ingredients gave me peace of mind knowing that I was not putting harmful substances into my body.
  • No side effects: Unlike other weight loss supplements that left me feeling jittery or caused digestive issues, I did not experience any side effects while taking Phd Weight Loss.
  • Affordable: Compared to other weight loss supplements on the market, Phd Weight Loss is reasonably priced. This made it more accessible for me to continue using it in the long run.

How to use Phd Weight Loss?

The recommended dosage for Phd Weight Loss is two capsules per day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is essential to follow this dosage and not exceed it as it can lead to adverse effects on your health.

Real-life results

I have been using Phd Weight Loss for three months now, and I have seen significant changes in my body. Not only have I lost weight, but I also feel more energized throughout the day. My clothes fit better, and I no longer struggle with cravings or overeating.

In conclusion

If you are looking for a natural and effective way to lose weight, then I highly recommend giving Phd Weight Loss a try. However, keep in mind that everyone’s body is different, so results may vary. It is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan and exercise regularly while taking this supplement for optimal results.

a healthier life and keep the weight off. I can't say enough good things about it!

that price, I lost zero pounds. I journaled every meal and chatted with the coach, and stayed faithful to the program the entire time. The "meal" program consisted of powdered soup and snack bars. What a ripoff! I was sold on "shelf stable foods"! False!!! The food they wanted me to buy, separate from the program cost, was astronomically expensive. If you have the cash, hire a trainer. At least you'll burn some fat.

that were unlimited were lettuce and spinach. You could only have a limited amount of tomatoes!! The counselors were nice but could only help you in the confines of the diet. I was always hungry and had no energy. The counselor told me that it might take as long as a month to start feeling more energetic-meanwhile my daily workouts were really suffering due to low energy. After a month I quit the diet-real people don't eat like this. The counselor was none too friendly when I said I wanted to stop. She said that 95% of people who do not reach their goal gain all that they have lost back. I went back to weight watchers and have lost 30 more poonds and feel great. The 13 pounds I lost at Phd weight loss were very expensive and the program is no way to eat.

effort to get me started on the program. They also want you to buy supplements and pay for psychological sessions? The website and paperwork doesn't say a thing about refunds, so we are at a loss. When I asked them about a refund, they said in the "packet" I received, it says what I invested in and that is is non-refundable. Pfffffft. This company will steal your money and give you 0 support when you really need it. Do carnivore diet instead.

food at no additional cost". The customized meal plan that I received was not adherent to a vegan lifestyle. For example, it stated that I should try to eat a rotisserie chicken. There are only 2 food items in their more than *********** that are vegan. This will not supply 85% of my food needs, as advertised. Their literature states that I would receive weekly, personalized coaching; It is week two and I have not yet met my coach. The coach that filled in last week indicated that she was very knowledgeable about vegan lifestyles and indicated she would send me vegan-friendly food. I want to note that this same counselor told me that a number of items on the food list were vegan, including the wild ***** punch, and the cream of tomato soup so she sent these to my house. Neither of these are vegan. Both of these products contain both whey and gelatin. I clarified with her prior to her sending the products that they were vegan stating, "Are you sure they are vegan and not vegetarian?" She responded, "Yes they are vegan." I had to throw all of this stuff out. It is strongly suggested that I enter my meals in a food log. The food log does not list very many vegan food items, so I cannot really use this resource. I feel like for a ton of money, I received a piece of paper with a diet on it and that is it. The product delivered is not as promised. Their response to my complaints was ineffectual - for example, they rewrote my diet plan but continued to include many non-vegan items in it. The diet they gave me is mostly "fake meats" which I don't regularly eat - this is not sustainable for me. I would NOT recommend this program to vegans.

to cancel her plan were rude and unprofessional. The diet plans are complicated and unsustainable, setting people up for failure. As someone who genuinely wants to see people win when it comes to their health goals, do yourself a favor and look for a credentialed dietitian that will cater to your lifestyle, food preferences and emotional support needs. The uncredentialed health coaches that this money-centric dietitian supposedly trains don't know what they don't know. This is your health they are dealing with. Meet with a registered dietitian instead.

fast on this program, mainly due to calorie restriction. They also allow you to consume healthy fats which helps with hunger control. But there are a number of drawbacks: 1. The program in VERY expensive, around $1000 to $1200 a month. 2. The packaged food is heavily processed and contains some questionable ingredients (see the photo which is from a different weight loss company. PHD uses the same exact packaged food). 3. For the meals you make yourself, they are very adamant about making sure you choose "approved" natural whole foods that do not contain questionable ingredients such as artificial sweeteners, seed oils etc. YET most of the packaged food they give you contains these very same types of ingredients! It's hypocritical to be honest. 4. The coaches are nice and encouraging, but at the end of the day they really don't provide value equivalent to the cost you're paying for the program. My advice - if you have tried other ways to lose weight to no avail, and if you can afford the cost, and it you don't mind eating packaged food, give it a shot. You'll lose the weight if you follow the program. But will your metabolic health improve? That's another question.

what is the phd weight loss program

pay THOUSANDS of dollars to have a person who isn't even a trained nutritionist check in with you each week and give you a fake smile and pretend they truly care about your progress. They ask you prepaid out questions based upon your prepaid one size fits all meal plan that consists of their prepackaged food packets that do not take great and notvteal foods. They give you bars and powder packets but you can't eat a piece of fruit. They don't give you suggestions or offer real food alternatives though they say upu get cup access to their website that offer recipes but they gave maybe 20 recipes and they tell you you can't use their packets to make things but offer no suggestions for recipes using them on their site. Furthermore- they never check in with you. If you miss an appointment or go without coming in. Upur support system they advertised is non existent. They have you sign a wave in the beginning listing your PCP and state that they send results etc to them but it's a lie. They never check with your physicians. They don't know real solutions to any issues that come up. I grew so constipated after folding their plan to a T that I went a week and a half without a bowel movement and their solution was to keep having me take a laxative regularly. Tgey have handouts that they give you but the people helping aren't fully trained to give sound advice. several times I spoke to them about workout plans or asked for suggestions and all they could tell me was that they are told to have all their customers walk every day. I was really disappointed. I went for three months, following everything to the letter and all I got was shit- literally bc I couldn't go and I lost 7 lbs total.

what is the phd weight loss program

can possibly make. It was liver issues due to fatty liver from chronic obesity that lead my family practice Doctor to "strongly" recommend that I lose weight; I am 5.7 and weighed 247 at the time of my 2016 physical. I started the program at 243.8 and ended at 170. I lost 74 lbs and my metabolic age went from 82 to 52 (I was 67 during the time I was in the program). My blood panels at my most recent physical were all comfortably in the "normal" range. My exercise regimen went from 30 min to 75 min and I am doing 3.5 miles of interval on my elliptical (it does help to be retired). Why PHD? It was recommended by two of my physicians. Additionally, I looked at several nationally advertised weight loss programs and decided that 1) they would take far longer and the total cost of the longer programs would not be significantly less than PHD; and 2) PHD is not just about eating different foods (ATKINS on steroids), it is about changing your life style, so that you not only lose the weight, but keep it off. Besides being about what you eat, the program is also about when you eat it; this Time Restricted Feeding (TRF) is becoming internationally recognized as a new healthy lifestyle. The food provided was quite tasty overall; I tried different cereals, shakes, bars and sauces until a found some that I really liked and stayed with those (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). The additional menus for preparing your own food provided some of the absolutely best meals my wife and I have ever had; that is doubly important, when you consider that you must continue the new eating life style. Oh yes, my wife was so supportive that she lost 20 lbs just eating the prepared food with me. The staff of ladies are friendly, helpful and professional and always willing to explain why certain rules were in place. The program includes instructional audios to help explain, motivate, and encourage the new dietary lifestyle that will be required to keep you at your new lower weight, and provides free monitoring and consultation to help keep you on the path to healthier living. PS: I intend to lose an additional 5-10 lbs; as I have gotten closer to my target weight, the rate of loss has decreased to a modest 2lbs weekly, but I am still losing. Ashley Lucas and her staff are wonder workers. On a scale of 1-10, I'll give PHDadancednutrition an 11.

change as I hit my 40s. From being the biggest kid in school to the biggest guy at work a life style change was in need. I found PHD Advanced Nutrition and Dr. Ashley Lucas from a friend/neighbor who struggled with weight and say him drop 50lbs in 5 months (or so). I started to drop some weight on my own but (as normal) after 34lbs I hit a snag and slowly fall back to the old ways. Dr. Lucas knew I'd be calling and that I needed help which wasn't easy to to admit to. We spoke on the phone for almost an hour and setup a follow up in-person a few days later. In that time I had some homework to do as well as start tracking my foods via an app. We meet up in late July 2015 in which I weighted in at 336 (which is was my scale at home, as her scale didn't go higher then 330lbs at that time). I was schooled in how to read a food label, exchange list, type of eating I'd be doing/meal plan and our weekly meetings. This is where it got tricky as I was her last appointment in that office (Redwood City, CA) since she was moving a few days later to Durango CO. Yup, thats right meet up once and Skype calls for now on till I came up this summer marking a1 year anniversary in meeting up for a in-person session (also rafting, train ride, site seeing, etc. Durango is awesome!). It's been 18months and 107lbs with Dr. Lucas directly and 141lbs total (influenced from her work with my friend which inspired me to loose weight on own). I am now 14lbs from goal of 215lbs (we've moved it 2x), look 15 years younger, more energetic then ever and have a new life ahead of me. This is legit, not some TV ad, book or something you're reading in national inquire. Dr. Lucas has a proven system of not only food, inspiration, knowledge and teachings for you to be a better and healthier person. Pro's * Dr Lucas is caring and here to help to see you through the goals. She's a Teacher to ensure you know what to do, how do it and help along the way * Knowledgable across all aspects of nutrition, body, macro's and more. * Staff is super friendly and helpful on anything you need * Flexible on schedule if/when needed in most cases * Remote options for those out of the city or can't make it in every week (skype, etc). * Meal plan options with provided snacks and other meals can be optioned. Con's (very minor) * Can be busy and may run a few mins late at times to meet-ups. * She'll work with any insurance but not all cover a nutritionist or weight lost assistance so check in advance. There is NO DOUBT in mind I couldn't do this on my own or even live past 45 years old without a major hospitalization (heart attach, stroke, etc). I had figured I'd spend $10k in medical bill co-ops at some point at the rate I was going. I knew it was easier to spend that on a safe, healthier and responsible way. If you struggle with 20lbs; 50lbs or even 100lbs+ and not sure what to do next give PHD Advanced Nutrition a call and be ready for the journey ahead (its not easy).

From there, PHD’s team of experts guides clients to enter into their optimal weight in which they will experience a faster, more efficient metabolism and ultimately have the best chance of success in maintaining their weight loss. And with the program’s free-for-life maintenance program, 85% of clients who participate maintain their weight loss within 3 lbs.

How it works:

PHD identifies each client’s optimal weight number based on accurate body composition analysis (which varies dramatically for each individual) — not based on a generic, random “goal weight.”

The reason why most people experience the frustrating “yoyo” phenomenon is because they only let go of a portion of their excess fat weight. That excess fat weight that we carry is active — secreting hormones that make us hungry, make us crave, slow our metabolism + make us not want to move. That’s why PHD encourages clients to participate in their program when they are 100% committed to fully collapsing the fat mass.

But when clients are bought in, it works. PHD is based on science, 15+ years of education and training in nutrition and weight management, and clinical experience working with thousands of clients .

Behavioral Nutrition PhD

Doctor of philosophy in behavioral nutrition.

The high prevalence of chronic disease and obesity worldwide, and increasingly of diabetes, has added urgency to the need for qualified researchers trained in understanding the complex interaction of biology, environment, and personal behavior, as well as skilled in the development of interventions to potentially attenuate the high rates of these conditions. At the same time, there is increasing recognition of the high impact of behavior and food policy on the sustainability of the food systems on which humans depend for their sustenance.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) prepares graduates to conduct research, evaluation and intervention studies in Behavioral Nutrition. Behavioral Nutrition is an emerging field dedicated to understanding the interaction between biology, individual behavior, and one’s environment that contribute to health and disease, to the sustainability of food systems, and to social issues deriving from systemic racism. Students in the Ph.D. in Behavioral Nutrition design and implement interventions based on these understandings. The program draws on the strong research agendas of the Program in Nutrition faculty in health behavior studies and health education, psychology, behavioral nutrition, nutrition education, nutritional epidemiology, nutritional ecology, and exercise physiology. The research of faculty in other areas at of Teachers College and from other schools at Columbia University, such as the Mailman School of Public Health and the School of Medicine, also influence the program.

In particular, the Ph.D. program prepares graduates to conduct research on critical issues related to:

  • Determinants of health behaviors related to nutrition and physical activity
  • Relationships among food- and nutrition-related behaviors, health outcomes, and the environment
  • Design and implementation of theory-based behavioral nutrition and physical activity interventions
  • Methodological considerations in the design and evaluation of interventions

There are three specializations within the Ph.D. program:

Behavioral Nutrition

Nutritional Epidemiology

Nutrition and Physical Activity

Graduates holding this degree are leaders who assume research, evaluation, and intervention roles in universities and colleges as well as other settings on a variety of issues related to behavioral aspects of nutrition as well as environmental factors affecting these behaviors. The program prepares researchers with strong quantitative and qualitative evaluation skills as well as basic and applied behavioral skills within an educational context.

Research Training and Apprenticeship

The primary modality for training for Ph.D. students is working with their sponsor on an ongoing research project. Students will work closely with one faculty member on a research project to gain practical experience in the development of study instruments, intervention protocols, data collection, data management and analysis, manuscript preparation and submission, and presentation of results at relevant scientific meetings. During their first year after completing basic core courses, students will also participate in two semester-long part-time internships with other Columbia University research labs or other organizations to gain additional research perspectives.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

With the increasing appreciation of the importance of nutrition for health promotion and disease prevention and the widespread interest in the sustainability and social equity of food systems, there is a need for highly qualified nutrition professionals who understand the complex interaction of biology, environment, and personal behavior, and who are skilled in conducting research and in the development and evaluation of interventions, programs, and policies in a variety of settings.

The program prepares scholars to conduct research on the critical issues related to:

determinants of health behaviors (biological, personal, social, and environmental) related to nutrition and to physical activity;

relationships among food- and nutrition-related behaviors and health outcomes using techniques of behavioral epidemiology;

design, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based behavioral nutrition and physical activity interventions

methodological considerations in the design and evaluation of interventions. There are three specializations:

The graduates from this program become leaders who assume professorial and research roles in universities and colleges within departments of nutrition epidemiology, foods and nutrition, and physical activity, as well as assume research roles in centers for research on behavioral aspects of obesity, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion. Thus, the program aims to prepare researchers with basic and applied behavioral skills within an educational context.

The Role of Nutrition in PhD Weight Loss

Importance of a balanced diet.

PhD Weight Loss programs emphasize the importance of a balanced diet in achieving sustainable weight loss. A balanced diet provides the body with the necessary nutrients to function optimally while maintaining a healthy weight. The program's dietitians and nutritionists work with clients to create customized meal plans that are tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and lifestyles. These meal plans are designed to provide the right amount of macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) necessary to support healthy weight loss.

Clients are encouraged to consume a variety of foods from different food groups, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. The program discourages the consumption of highly processed foods, sugary drinks, and foods high in saturated and trans fats. Instead, clients are encouraged to opt for whole, nutrient-dense foods that provide the body with the necessary nutrients without excessive calories.

Role of Supplements in Weight Loss

While a balanced diet is the foundation of sustainable weight loss, supplements can play a role in supporting the body's weight loss efforts. PhD Weight Loss programs do not rely on supplements as the primary means of weight loss. Instead, supplements are used as a complementary tool to support the body's natural weight loss processes.

The program's dietitians and nutritionists work with clients to identify nutrient deficiencies that may be hindering their weight loss efforts. Supplements are then recommended to address these deficiencies. For example, clients who are deficient in vitamin D may be recommended a vitamin D supplement to support their weight loss efforts.

It is important to note that supplements should never replace a balanced diet. While supplements can provide the body with the necessary nutrients, they cannot replace the numerous other health benefits that come with consuming a variety of whole foods.

Coaching and Support in PhD Weight Loss

PHD Weight Loss offers ongoing support and coaching to help clients stay motivated and accountable throughout their weight loss journey. The program's coaching and support system includes regular check-ins, group sessions, and one-on-one coaching.

Role of a Weight Loss Coach

A weight loss coach plays an essential role in helping clients achieve their weight loss goals. The coach provides guidance, support, and motivation to help clients stay on track with their weight loss plan. They help clients identify obstacles that may be preventing them from reaching their goals and help them develop strategies to overcome those obstacles.

The coach also helps clients develop healthy habits and behaviors that support long-term weight loss. They provide education on proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management techniques. They also help clients develop realistic goals and create a personalized plan that fits their lifestyle and preferences.

Team of Experts Support

In addition to a weight loss coach, PHD Weight Loss provides a team of experts to support clients throughout their weight loss journey. The team includes registered dietitians, exercise physiologists, and behavioral health specialists.

The registered dietitians provide personalized nutrition plans based on clients' individual needs and preferences. They also provide education on proper nutrition and help clients develop healthy eating habits that support long-term weight loss.

The exercise physiologists help clients develop a safe and effective exercise plan that fits their fitness level and goals. They also provide education on proper exercise techniques and help clients stay motivated to exercise regularly.

Overall, PHD Weight Loss's coaching and support system provides clients with the tools and resources they need to achieve their weight loss goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle long-term.

Exercise and Physical Activity

Regular exercise is a crucial component of any weight loss program. It not only helps to burn calories but also has numerous benefits for overall health. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, regular exercise can reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Importance of Regular Exercise

Exercise can help to increase metabolism, which is the rate at which the body burns calories. This means that even after the workout is over, the body continues to burn calories at a higher rate than normal. In addition, exercise helps to build lean muscle mass, which also increases metabolism.

Another benefit of exercise is that it can improve mood and reduce stress. This is because exercise releases endorphins, which are natural feel-good chemicals in the brain. Regular exercise can also improve sleep quality, which is important for overall health and weight loss.

Role of a Personal Trainer

A personal trainer can be an invaluable resource for anyone looking to lose weight. They can provide guidance on proper form and technique for exercises, as well as create a customized workout plan tailored to individual needs and goals.

Personal trainers can also provide motivation and accountability, which can be especially helpful for those who struggle to stay consistent with exercise. They can also help to monitor progress and adjust the workout plan as needed to ensure continued progress.

When working with a personal trainer, it is important to communicate any health concerns or limitations to ensure that the workout plan is safe and effective.

Behavior and Lifestyle Changes

Behavior and lifestyle changes are essential components of any successful weight loss program. Research has consistently shown that lifestyle modifications are the first-line therapy for patients with overweight or obesity [1] . However, making long-term changes to behavior and lifestyle can be challenging, and relapse is common [2] .

One effective weight loss intervention is a program that includes a moderately reduced-calorie diet, increased physical activity, and the use of behavior strategies to facilitate adherence [1] . Behavioral weight loss programs are designed to help individuals develop and maintain healthy habits and behaviors, such as regular exercise, healthy eating, and stress management [3] .

Behavioral weight loss programs can be delivered in various formats, including group-based programs, individual counseling, and online programs. Group-based programs have been shown to be effective and cost-effective, particularly when delivered in community settings [4] . These programs provide social support, accountability, and the opportunity to learn from others' experiences.

Behavioral strategies used in weight loss programs include self-monitoring, goal setting, stimulus control, problem-solving, and cognitive restructuring. Self-monitoring involves tracking food intake, physical activity, and weight. Goal setting involves setting realistic and specific goals for behavior change. Stimulus control involves modifying the environment to reduce exposure to cues that trigger unhealthy behaviors. Problem-solving involves identifying and overcoming barriers to behavior change. Cognitive restructuring involves identifying and challenging negative thoughts and beliefs that may hinder behavior change [1] .

In summary, behavior and lifestyle changes are essential components of any successful weight loss program. Behavioral weight loss programs can be effective and cost-effective, particularly when delivered in community settings. These programs use a range of behavioral strategies to help individuals develop and maintain healthy habits and behaviors.

Comparison with Other Weight Loss Programs

When it comes to weight loss programs, there are many options available in the market. In this section, we will compare PHD weight loss program with two other popular weight loss programs: Nutrisystem and Weight Loss Apps.

Nutrisystem Comparison

Nutrisystem is a commercial weight loss program that provides pre-packaged meals and snacks to its customers. The program offers a variety of plans based on the customer's gender, age, and weight loss goals. The plans range from basic to premium and can cost up to $500 per month.

In comparison, PHD weight loss program offers personalized meal plans and coaching services. The program is designed to meet the specific needs of each individual and can cost between $500 to $1000. While Nutrisystem may be a more affordable option, it does not offer the same level of personalization and coaching as PHD weight loss program.

Weight Loss App Comparison

Weight loss apps have become increasingly popular in recent years. These apps provide users with tools to track their food intake, exercise, and weight loss progress. Some popular weight loss apps include MyFitnessPal, Noom, and Lose It!.

In comparison, PHD weight loss program offers personalized coaching services in addition to meal plans. While weight loss apps may be a more affordable option, they do not offer the same level of personalization and coaching as PHD weight loss program.

Understanding Metabolism and Chronic Diseases

Metabolism is the process by which the body converts food and drink into energy. It is an essential process for maintaining life, and it is influenced by various factors such as age, sex, body composition, and physical activity. A healthy metabolism is critical for maintaining a healthy weight, and it can be affected by chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Chronic diseases are long-term conditions that are often caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. They are a significant public health issue, and they can lead to disability, reduced quality of life, and premature death. Chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are closely linked to metabolism and can be caused by a variety of factors, including inflammation.

Inflammation is a natural response of the body to injury or infection, but chronic inflammation can lead to a range of health problems, including chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Inflammation can cause damage to cells and tissues, leading to insulin resistance, which can lead to type 2 diabetes. It can also contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

Understanding metabolism and chronic diseases is critical for developing effective treatments and prevention strategies. Researchers are studying the links between metabolism, chronic diseases, and inflammation to better understand the underlying mechanisms and identify new targets for intervention. By understanding these complex interactions, researchers hope to develop new therapies and prevention strategies that can help to reduce the burden of chronic diseases and improve overall health.

Weight Gain and Loss

Losing weight is a common goal for many people, but it can be difficult to achieve. Weight gain can occur for various reasons, including genetics, lifestyle, and medical conditions. It is important to understand the factors that contribute to weight gain and how to effectively lose weight.

According to the American Heart Association, a healthy weight loss goal is to lose 1-2 pounds per week. This can be achieved through a combination of diet and exercise. It is important to create a calorie deficit by consuming fewer calories than you burn. This can be done by reducing portion sizes, choosing healthier food options, and increasing physical activity.

PHD Weight Loss is a program that offers a unique approach to weight loss without hunger, starvation, chronic exercise, or medications. The program is individually-delivered and developed by doctors and dietitians. PHD Weight Loss has helped over 8,000 clients lose over 180,000 pounds.

The cost of the PHD Weight Loss program varies depending on the specific program that is chosen. According to Health First Lab, the cost typically ranges from $500 to $1,000. It is important to consider the cost of the program when deciding if it is the right choice for achieving weight loss goals.

In addition to the PHD Weight Loss program, there are other methods for losing weight. These include:

  • Following a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrient-dense foods.
  • Increasing physical activity through exercise, sports, or other activities.
  • Seeking support from a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or dietitian.
  • Considering medication or surgery for severe cases of obesity.

Is Phd Weight Loss Worth the Investment?

If you’re considering investing in a weight loss program, you may be wondering whether Phd Weight Loss is worth it. The answer depends on your goals and individual needs, but there are several reasons why Phd could be a good choice for you.

Real Results: See the Transformations from Phd Weight Loss

One of the most compelling reasons to invest in Phd Weight Loss is the real results that clients achieve. Many people who have struggled with losing weight for years find success with this program, often losing significant amounts of weight and improving their overall health and wellness.

“I was skeptical at first, but after working with the team at Phd, I lost 50 pounds and feel better than ever before.” – Karen S.

Phd’s approach to weight loss is tailored to each individual client, which helps ensure that the plan is effective and sustainable. Plus, the program includes ongoing support and guidance, so you’ll have the resources you need to stay on track even after you’ve achieved your weight loss goals.

Expert Guidance: Personalized Plans for Your Unique Body

The key to any successful weight loss plan is personalized guidance and support. This is where Phd really shines – their team of experienced professionals will work closely with you to create a customized plan that takes your unique body, lifestyle, and goals into account.

Phd’s experts include registered dietitians, personal trainers, and behavior change specialists, so you’ll have all the expertise you need in one place. They can help you identify roadblocks and barriers to weight loss, develop healthy habits like meal planning and exercise, and keep you accountable as you work towards your goals.

Improved Health: Beyond Weight Loss, Phd Helps You Build Healthy Habits

Of course, losing weight is important for many reasons – but it’s not the only thing that matters when it comes to your health and well-being. This is another area where Phd excels, as their program is designed to help clients build healthy habits that promote long-term wellness.

By focusing on factors like nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep, Phd can help you feel better in all areas of your life, not just with regard to your weight. Plus, many clients report improved energy levels, reduced joint pain, and other benefits from participating in the program.

Long-Term Value: Phd Weight Loss Plans are Designed to Last

The last thing anyone wants is to invest time and money into a weight loss program that won’t yield lasting results. Fortunately, Phd has built sustainability into their approach from the ground up.

With a focus on behavior change rather than quick fixes, Phd helps clients develop healthy habits that will serve them well for years to come. They also provide ongoing support and resources to help clients stay on track even after they’ve completed the initial program.

All in all, while investing in Phd Weight Loss may require an upfront investment, it could ultimately save you both time and money by helping you achieve long-lasting health and wellness.

Comparing Phd Weight Loss Costs with Other Programs

Losing weight is a journey that requires commitment, discipline, and effort. However, it can be challenging to find the right weight loss program that fits your budget and lifestyle. In this article, we’ll compare the cost of Phd Weight Loss with other programs to see if it’s an affordable option for you.

Phd Weight Loss vs. Expensive Gym Memberships

Gym memberships are popular among people who want to lose weight while keeping themselves active and working out regularly. However, some gym memberships can be expensive, especially if they require specific classes, personal trainers, or premium facilities. According to Business Insider, the average monthly gym membership in the US costs around $58 per month.

On the other hand, Phd Weight Loss offers personalized weight loss programs that include nutritional guidance, exercise plans, and medical supervision at a fraction of the cost of a regular gym membership. An initial consultation may cost $199, but after that, the monthly fee starts at $89, making it an affordable option for those on a budget.

Phd Weight Loss vs. Costly Meal Delivery Services

The food we eat plays an essential role in losing weight. Many people prefer meal delivery services that provide healthy, pre-cooked meals and help them stay on track with their calorie intake. Some popular meal delivery services, like Blue Apron or HelloFresh, charge over $10 per meal.

In comparison, Phd Weight Loss offers customized meal plans tailored to each person’s unique needs and preferences as part of its weight loss program. While the exact cost can vary depending on each individual’s plan, clients have reported paying between $100-$350 per week for all meals and snacks throughout the day.

Phd Weight Loss vs. Expensive Personal Trainers

Hiring a personal trainer to guide you through your weight loss journey can be helpful and beneficial, but it’s also expensive. According to Thumbtack, the average hourly cost of a personal trainer in the US ranges from $60-$100.

In comparison, Phd Weight Loss offers individualized guidance on exercise routines as part of its weight loss programs, which include assessments, progress monitoring, and support via telemedicine or at their clinics. While pricing for these services can vary based on the specific program offered, some options can cost just a few hundred dollars per month.

Phd Weight Loss vs. Other Weight Loss Programs: A Cost Comparison

There are many weight loss programs available that offer different methods, plans, strategies, and costs. However, not all weight loss programs are created equally, and not everyone has the same needs when trying to lose weight. To see how Phd Weight Loss compares with other popular programs, we’ve gathered some information about their respective costs.

  • Jenny Craig: an initial membership fee of $99 plus $19/month for the first month; ongoing monthly fees depend on the plan chosen (ranging from $39-$98 per week)
  • Nutrisystem: pre-paid meals starting from $8.93/day up to $11.96/day, depending on meal selection and menu personalization options chosen
  • Weight Watchers (now called WW): subscription-based model ranging from $4.61/week to $12.69/week, depending on the plan selected and length of commitment made

Compared to these weight loss programs mentioned above, Phd Weight Loss is more personalized and medically supervised. Their pricing is competitive and affordable, with some plans starting at $89 per month plus an initial consultation fee of $199.

“Investing in your health and well-being doesn’t have to be expensive. With a carefully curated weight loss program that caters to your unique needs, Phd Weight Loss can help you achieve your weight loss goals without breaking the bank.” -Anonymous

While the cost of Phd Weight Loss may vary depending on each person’s situation and plan selection, it’s clear that compared to other popular weight loss programs, it provides effective results for a more reasonable price. By enrolling in their program, you’ll not only lose weight but also gain valuable knowledge about healthy nutrition habits, exercise routines, and long-term lifestyle changes that will benefit your overall health and wellness.

Dr. Doug Lucas

Do, chief science officer, orthopedic surgeon, fellow in anti-aging and metabolic medicine.

Dr. Doug Lucas is a double board certified physician and holds the status of fellow in anti-aging and metabolic medicine. He is the founder of Optimal Bone Health MD and Optimal Human Health MD, his two parallel platforms created with patient expectations and outcomes in mind. His subspecialty training exposed him to the tremendous impact of obesity and related diseases such as diabetes on his patients. This in combination with his own struggle with weight maintenance led him to create and grow the role of Chief Science Officer within the PHD organization. As a pioneer in the fields of anti-aging, osteoporosis and comprehensive telehealth solutions, Dr. Doug launched his nationwide telehealth practice to see patients in 2020. He created a platform that allowed him and other providers to see patients the way they felt they deserved to be seen. Prior to Optimal Bone Health MD Dr. Doug practiced in the traditional medical model. He completed his orthopedic surgery training at Stanford University and began a traditional orthopedic surgery practice in Durango, CO. He treated osteoporotic fractures and supported his PA to launch a hospital and insurance-based program for osteoporosis. After seven years of disappointment with the system in which Dr. Doug found himself, he left the traditional medical model and pursued additional training. It was then that he received his second board certification in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine as well as achieved the status of Fellow in Anti-Aging and Metabolic Medicine before fulfilling his vision by launching Optimal Human Health MD (OHH).

Jenn Walgren

Director of operations and leadership.

Jenn spent a considerable amount of time in Lake Mary, Florida where she served alongside a team to protect National Security through background investigations. She grew professionally as a servant leader and eventually traded the sunny skies and lakes of Florida for a more seasonal adventure in Lake Norman, North Carolina. She always enjoyed running, but the fitness bug really hit her in NC and she began training for Spartan races, mud races, and obstacle course races. She earned several Tri-fectas and overpowered her fear of heights by pushing beyond what she thought was possible. Jenn’s passion for leadership and service expanded to the healthcare industry, where she continued to positively impact people’s lives through dentistry that was aimed at providing care to those in need. Her next servant leadership calling brought her to PHD Weight Loss, where she loves making a difference in people’s lives and focusing on helping them learn healthy habits for life. She thrives on seeing our team and our clients succeed and loves seeing people grow.

Her dedication and devotion to these sports demanded adherence to a way of life which taught her the importance of lifelong nutrition and the habits and behaviors that come with life change. This knowledge and first-hand experience propelled her advocacy for others dealing with the same struggles. Jayde is vested in helping others succeed in improving their health once and for all!

Which weight loss program is best for you? Dietitians and doctors share guidance

About 70% of adults in the United States are overweight or have obesity, according to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health , but losing weight is a personal journey. Weight loss programs are one way that can help, but with so many to choose from, where do you start? Here’s a review on some of the best weight loss programs to consider and how to select the best one for you.

Weight loss programs versus diets

“I would separate a ‘diet’ from a program, which basically helps you stick to that ‘diet,’” Evan M. Forman, Ph.D., director of the Center for Weight, Eating and Lifestyle Science (WELL Center) at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, tells TODAY.com.

“The dietary prescriptions that have been evaluated and compared are reduced calorie, or balanced calorie deficit, low fat, low carb , plant based and Mediterranean ,” adds Forman, who is also a professor of psychology and brain sciences.

Studies show these approaches are all effective — and equally effective when compared with one another — but he cautions individual results can vary widely.

“The main factor seems to be which dietary pattern allows a given person to feel satisfied and is sustainable over the very long term,” Forman advises.

U.S News & World Report 2024 Best Diet rankings

U.S. News & World Report's annual diet rankings have separate lists for best weight loss diets and best overall diets . The former is focused on the most effective eating plans for losing weight and sustaining it long term, whereas the latter group of diets prioritizes weight management and healthy eating.

U.S. News & World Report's best diets for weight loss for 2024 are:

  • WeightWatchers
  • Mediterranean
  • Volumetrics

Mayo Clinic Diet

  • Flexitarian

Noom Weight

The best overall diets for 2024 are:

  • Dr. Weil’s Anti-Inflammatory

What makes a good weight loss program?

 Ask yourself these four questions:

Which program will work best for you?

“Avoid quick fixes,” Satya Jonnalagadda, a registered dietitian nutritionist, tells TODAY.com. “Instead, focus on nutrition and lifestyle changes — one healthy habit at a time.”

Look for plans that include food you enjoy, but make sure the plans are balanced with enough nutrients and include food from all major good groups, according to Mayo Clinic .

Does the program set goals and track what you are eating?

“Effective programs provide nutrition skills, and help you set weight, activity and energy intake, aka calorie, goals, and make it reasonably easy to track your behavior against your goals, including tracking everything you eat,” Forman says.

A reasonable weight loss goal is typically one to two pounds per week, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Is counseling part of the program?

Forman recommends a program that has lifestyle counseling to teach skills on how to develop and sustain healthier eating and physical activity habits.

“A large number of studies show that people tend to succeed only if they enroll in a structured, intensive program with expert coaches who meet regularly over a long period of times, such as 25 times in one year, in order to provide skills training, problem solving and accountability,” he notes.

Is physical activity included?

Programs should also include physical activity because exercise helps to maintain a healthy weight and counters the loss in muscle mass that accompanies weight loss, according to Mayo Clinic.

Which are the best weight loss programs?

Ultimately, the best weight loss program for you will be one you enjoy and therefore can stick with, experts say.

“We need to personalize programs to fit individual needs," Fatima Cody Stanford, M.D., obesity medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, tells TODAY.com, adding that she doesn't believe one is better than another.

Based on interviews with nutritionists, and existing research and rankings, here are some top weight loss programs (though this list in not all-inclusive):

  • WeightWatchers Points Program
  • WeightWatchers Clinic
  • National Diabetes Prevention Plan
  • Nutrisystem

Jenny Craig

Our list also includes pros and cons for each program based on interviews with nutritionists, existing research and rankings, and information from the program's websites and spokespeople.

As trying any new weight loss program may affect your digestion, blood sugar and overall health, consult your health care provider before doing so.

WeightWatchers Points Program

“With WeightWatchers programming , not all calories are equal,” Gary Foster, Ph.D., chief scientific officer of WeightWatchers in New York, New York, tells TODAY.com.

Rated the No. 1 diet program in the U.S. News and World Report in 2023, the WeightWatchers Points Program assigns every food a single number "points value" based on its calories and nutritional factors, like added sugars , fiber , protein and the amount of saturated or unsaturated fats , Foster explains.

Participants get a personalized "points budget" to spend on any foods they want to eat, and they track what they are eating in an app. They need to stay in their budget of points to lose weight, according to the company’s website.

“Our Points Program is backed by decades of research, demonstrating efficacy for both short- and long-term weight loss and maintenance without medication,” Foster says.

  • Over 200 low-calorie but filling foods that don’t have to be tracked
  • No food or beverages off limits
  • Exclusive in-app social network
  • 24/7 virtual chat to share tips, recipes and solutions for common challenges
  • Food-tracking and counting points can feel time-consuming
  • Weekly recommended weight checks may feel stressful
  • Too lenient for some battling self-control and may lead too poor nutritional choices

“ The Mayo Clinic Diet is not just a diet. It is a lifestyle change program,” Dr. Donald Hensrud, editor of the ‘Mayo Clinic Diet’ based in Rochester, Minnesota, tells TODAY.com.

Rated among the top five diet programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2023, it focuses on eating healthy foods by teaching how to estimate portion sizes and plan meals while increasing physical activity.

“By consuming generous amounts of foods that are high in bulk but low in calories, such as vegetables and fruits, people can feel satisfied yet consume less calories” adds Hensrud, an internal medicine physician specializing in nutrition and weight management.

The diet is divided into two phases: The first is called "Lose It!" and second is called "Live It!"

“In the two-week 'Lose It!' phase, people make changes in 15 habits related to weight management, (while) in the 'Live It!' phase, people take these habits and turn them into a lifestyle change program,” Hensrud explains.

“The only necessary cost is 'The Mayo Clinic Diet' book and, if desired, ‘The Mayo Clinic Diet Journal,'” he said.

There's also a digital component, which includes a food tracker, group coaching, meal plans and recipes, and other educational resources and features, Hensrud adds.

  • Not focused on counting calories
  • Easy to follow
  • Manages weight for the long term
  • Different menus and recipes for a Mediterranean, higher protein, healthy keto and vegetarian eating preferences
  • May temporarily raise blood sugar, according to the Mayo Clinic website
  • "Lose It!" time-period may be too short a time period for some to change habits

Rated best weight loss app with coaching by Healthline in 2023, Noom Weight is a virtual weight management program that helps lose weight by focusing on the mental aspects of weight loss.

After taking an online quiz, the app provides a plan (often for 16 weeks) with suggested caloric intake, complete with daily lessons to help change the way you think and feel about eating, according to the company website. The user tracks everything they eat, which is categorized into green, yellow or orange foods, with the goal to eat a balanced amount of all the colors, according to its website.

“We help our users better understand their relationship with food, how to be more mindful of their habits, and give them the knowledge and support they need for positive health outcomes — including guiding them through lessons and habit-forming exercises to enhance understanding and integration of our ‘four pillars of health' (sleep, exercise, nutrition, and stress management),” a Noom spokesperson tells TODAY.com.

While Forman doesn't endorse any specific weight loss programs (and does not have any current financial ties to any), he says that Noom is "one of the only programs" that helps teach "cognitive behavior skills," like how to manage cravings and create an environment with food that reduces temptation.

  • Daily lessons to help change habits and behaviors
  • Coaching support via chat inside app
  • Tracking tools for food and exercise to hit goals at a personalized pace
  • No food off limits
  • No in-person coaching
  • Some may find it time-consuming to log everything they eat on a daily basis
  • Because self-help is a big focus, it may not work for everyone

The program is rated among the top five diet programs in 2023 by U.S. News and World Report.

“ Optavia provides personalized, holistic support to help transform your lifestyle — with everything in one place: one-on-one coaching, active community, healthy habit creation, the right easy-to-adhere-to nutrition and activity guidance,” Jonnalagadda, Ph.D., who is also vice president of scientific and clinical affairs at Medifast, the parent company of Optavia, tells TODAY.com.

The goal is to eat six small meals a day with a combination of prepackaged Optavia branded products called “fuelings” and homemade meals prepared on your own called “lean and green” meals. Clients eat five "fuelings" every two to three hours, then make one home-cooked "lean and green" meal.

“ Optavia 'fuelings' are pre-portioned, nutrient-dense, calorie and carbohydrate controlled, made with high-quality protein, fortified with vitamins and minerals, fiber and probiotics, and contain no colors, flavors or sweeteners from artificial sources — making it simple and convenient to follow,” a company rep tells TODAY.com.

“At the foundation of the program is the Habits of Health Transformational System, which focuses on six key healthy habits, including weight management, eating and hydration, motion, sleep, mind and surroundings,” Jonnalagadda adds.

  • One-on-one coaching
  • 90% of Optavia coaches were clients first
  • Some may not like the emphasis on prepackaged meals
  • Potential weight rebound after stopping products

TOPS Club, which stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly, has been around since 1948 and now has about 6,000 chapters across the U.S. and Canada.

“In a nutshell, TOPS connects people of all backgrounds, many of whom cannot afford expensive commercial programs, through our network of weight‐loss support groups,” Michelle Ganley, director of communications of TOPS Club, tells TODAY.com.

“When you become a member of a chapter, you’re joining a group of people with similar healthy living goals. It’s that accountability that our members swear by — showing up for one another week in and week out, at regularly scheduled meetings.”

The program does not have any formal counseling as it’s centered on peer-to-peer support. Members have access to a variety of meal plans on the website, with a 28-day meal plan that’s recommend for new members when they first join. There’s no official diet to follow, but many follow the Food Exchange System, created by the American Diabetic Association, Ganley notes.

Dr. Nia Schwann Mitchell, weight management specialist at Duke University, tells TODAY.com a "unique" aspect of TOPS Club is that "people are expected to continue in the program and participate weekly, even after they reach their goal weight."

Her research shows people who participate in the TOPS program for at least one year can lose up to 5-7% of their initial weight and maintain the weight loss for up to seven years.

“As with other weight loss strategies, when people stop doing the things that helped them lose weight, they gain it back,” she adds.

  • Online and virtual options
  • Strong support among people who are going through similar experience
  • No official diet to follow·
  • No formal counseling
  • Support varies by local chapter

National Diabetes Prevention Program

“The National Diabetes Prevention Program’s lifestyle change program helps people who are at high risk for Type 2 diabetes to make healthy changes — including losing a modest amount of body weight — that can prevent or delay Type 2 diabetes,” Christopher Holliday, Ph.D., director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control's Division of Diabetes Translation, tells TODAY.com.

“The lifestyle change program helps participants eat healthier, get more physical activity, manage stress, and cope with life’s challenges that can make it difficult to stay on track.”

Participants have access to CDC-approved resources, support groups, and a lifestyle coach to help them build healthy habits that last a lifetime, he adds.

“Research shows that people who participate can cut their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by more than half,” Holliday says. “The year-long program is offered in-person, as well as ... virtually, and it is covered by many employers and insurance providers, including several state Medicaid programs."

  • Clinically proven to prevent or delay diabetes, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
  • Virtual or in-person options
  • CDC-program with evidenced based research to support sustained weight loss
  • Cost varies
  • Primary goal to prevent diabetes
  • Need to meet eligibility criteria to participate
  • People with Type 1 or 2 diabetes not eligible

Nutrisystem

Rated among the top five diet programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2023, the program centers on balanced, premade meals and controls calories and hunger by eating frequently throughout the day, according to its website.

You first select a plan based on your age and sex. Then Nutrisystem delivers meals and snacks to your home. You then follow their app to know exactly what to eat and when (usually six times a day) while having daily access to coaches as needed. The premade meals focus on lean proteins, healthy fats, and certain carbohydrates combined with fiber and vegetables, according to the company’s website.

  • No counting calories
  • Customized plans and modifiable meals
  • App provides support and resources
  • Limited options for eating out
  •  Hard to sustain weight loss over long term
  • Not suitable for people with soy or peanut allergies

Rated among the top 10 diet programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2023, the Keyto diet is a low-carbohydrate diet that emphasizes Mediterranean diet foods and fats that helps people “lose weight with no hunger,” according to its website.

First you create your personalized plan with a short questionnaire, and then you get the Keyto app. It includes a 16-week course, a customized lesson plan, a searchable food database, meal plans, recipes and a podcast for members. All members get coaching from a goal specialist, dietitian and personal trainer, per its website.

  • Recipes can be easily adjusted to dietary preferences
  • No counting calories or points
  • Diet rich in high-fiber foods
  • Mediterranean-style diet may lend to long term weight loss
  • May not work for people with gallbladder issues or irritable bowel syndrome
  • Diabetics should talk to their doctor first before starting program

Jenny Craig is an entirely virtual program of prepackaged meal plans that incorporate the principles behind intermittent fasting to achieve weight loss.

It is rated the second-best diet program by U.S. News and World Report in 2023, but the company has now shifted into a virtual model after it was bought by the owner of Nutrisystem earlier this year.

People first choose among several meal plans, and then the food is delivered to their door in two-week shipments. They eat during a 10-hour “nourishment period” window, then take a break for a 14-hour “rejuvenation period," which includes sleep. Members also get "recharge bars" that they can eat in the last two hours of the fasting period to curb hunger. Weekly coaching is also available.

  • Defined meal plans
  • Coaching available
  • Structure approach to eating
  • No in person coaching
  • Long periods without eating

PhD Weight Loss Program and OTF

Has anyone done any of their programs or looked into it? It seems it’s not restrictive or has severe calorie deficit like most physician monitored programs based on their website.
