During my time there, I was able to develop my skills in various aspects of fashion marketing, from managing social media campaigns to conducting market research and analysis. I was also able to develop important relationships within the industry, and I believe that this experience will be invaluable as I move forward in my career.

In addition to my passion and experience, I am confident that my academic background will enable me to succeed in fashion marketing. My AAA levels in English, Maths, and Sociology have prepared me with a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and data analysis. English has allowed me to effectively express my thoughts and ideas, while Maths has given me a solid understanding of numbers and statistics, which are essential in determining market trends. I have always been driven by a passion for creativity and a love for the finer details. I am eager to study Fashion Marketing as I believe this will provide me with the ideal platform to showcase my flair for fashion, as well as allow me to demonstrate my strong literary skills. My experiences studying Sociology, Media, and English Language at A Level, have provided me with specific skills that have helped me to grow and develop creatively. The English Language was my favourite subject, and I relished the opportunity to focus on topics that were important to me, as well as learn a wide variety of linguistic and language techniques. Media Studies was also an exciting subject for me as it allowed me to develop and edit a mock-up independent magazine, focusing on a genre of my choice. I chose to study the music industry, and I was able to learn about various forms of media promotion, advertising, and film. I was able to work as part of a creative team and participate in group activities, and I have developed the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

I love the freedom that comes with the humanities and the arts, and I appreciate the ability to express myself creatively without feeling tied down to any specific “idea”. The freedom to explore my vision and perspective is what sets these subjects apart from the more factual and scientific-based subjects.

I am currently documenting my photographs and personal reflections on my Tiktok blog, and I enjoy experimenting with different visuals and imagery. Over the years, I have become interested in a wide range of creative ideas, and I am particularly inspired by photographers such as Anna-Lou Leibovitz and Amber Asaly, whose works have been featured in my favourite magazines such as Galore and Vogue.

Fashion Design has allowed me to develop my artistic skills while also giving me a practical understanding of how garments are made and marketed. Over the years, I have participated in many fashion shows as a designer and model manager/coordinator. This experience has taught me valuable lessons about working as part of a team, dealing with last-minute changes, and interpreting feedback from others.

I am confident that my passion for artistry combined with my organizational skills would make me an excellent candidate for any Fashion Design program.

When writing a fashion design personal statement, the most important thing is to be yourself. Don’t try to imitate someone else’s style; instead, let your personality shine through.

Fashion Personal Statement Example

Sample statement.

For me, fashion enables you to define yourself without even having to open your mouth. Your own unique style can tell a complete stranger everything they need to know about you and your personality, and the even bigger benefit is that you can change your style to suit your mood or the occasion.

I feel that clothing allows you to change the way you are perceived by society more easily than anything else you could change about yourself. By being a true style chameleon you can be anything you want to be. Designers that really encompass this feeling for me are Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, and in recent years, Victoria Beckham.

At school I excelled in Textiles and completed a complicated formal dress, involving an inner corset, for my final year project. This course allowed me to develop the practical skills needed to truly understand the fashion industry and my independent research gave me an insight in to textile manufacturing and development.

To help develop my own personal sense of style I worked part-time in High Street fashion store River Island during my time at college. Whilst there I learnt a lot about how to combine individual items to create whole outfits, as well as the business side of fashion such as staff management, deliveries, and visual merchandising.

Outside of my education I enjoy travelling as I feel this helps to inspire my future fashion choices and shows me how different cultures and climates have affected the way people dress. For me, part of the fun of travelling is bringing back clothing or accessories to remind you of your holiday at home.

I also enjoy being involved in social media, and run several of my own ‘blogs’. I hope that in the future my writing experience will enable me to gain work experience in a fashion journalism or editorial role.

I hope that my time at university will allow me to learn more about the manufacturing and designing side of the fashion industry so that I can begin to develop my own range of home ware textiles.

I am drawn to the endless possibilities of fashion; the idea that someone can fully express themselves through their clothes captivates me. Fashion plays a major role in my life, from my part-time work to my leisure time; I always seem to have a hunger for fashion inspiration and ideas. I am currently studying a Level 3 BTEC diploma in Business and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I am on track to achieve distinction stars at the end of the course due to my active approach towards my learning and my excellent attendance. Through studying Business, I became fascinated with the business and marketing side of fashion and I am intrigued with the marketing strategies and what motivates the consumer to buy a fashion product. Thinking in an unconventional way has always created my most successful ideas and I know that this will work to my advantage when studying Fashion Marketing and Promotion. For example, for my AS Media Studies coursework, I designed a DVD cover for a horror film aimed at female teenagers. Following extensive research I found that there was a huge market for female teens but they were overlooked because the Horror genre tends to be male orientated. I also found that this particular market was into the Gothic Scene so in my design, I used colours like black and red since they appealed to that particular scene as well as being associated with the horror genre. Although this is not directly related to Fashion, I understand that to successfully create and market a product, a company has to carefully consider what market they are targeting. Through employment, I have gained an insight into the world of high street fashion. I have been employed by numerous high street fashion retailers including H&M, Primark and Next. I was amazed by the difference between the companies. I found that Primark functioned at a very fast pace compared to H&M who were very laid back towards the shopping experience. However there were some similarities in their subtle but effective marketing techniques, for example the way they encourage impulse buys. H&M used big bins of accessories in the till area to tempt customers while they queued for the till. Primark had piles of baskets scattered throughout the store. While I was employed at Next, I found that they used the same technique in Primark, especially in the infamous end of season sales. In the sales, the staff were required to hand large plastic bags to the customers upon arrival. This encouraged customers to just throw in products because they were cheap and by the time they got to the till, they had filled the bags which generated a larger income for the company. I am currently employed by Dorothy Perkins as a Sales Assistant. As well as the usual duties of a Sales Assistant, such as customer service, stock rotation and tidying the shop floor, I have also gained extra responsibilities in this job such as marking down sales and merchandising. Along with my job at Dorothy Perkins, I am also doing voluntary working in a local charity shop, I find this very rewarding as I am giving my time freely while making a positive contribution to the community. I am very grateful for the amount of work experience I have had as it has helped me to improve skills such as team working, initiative and achieving targets as well as proving that I can managed my college and working life successfully. All of these skills will prove invaluable both at University and working in my chosen profession. Along with looking at fashion magazines and blogs in my spare time, I particularly enjoy photography, it's a good way to channel my creativity by allowing me to go out and capture beautiful images. Music is another passion of mine and I enjoy attending concerts and music festivals whenever I can. I am looking forward to attending University and I know that I am ready to face the challenges that it brings. Most importantly, I am excited for the new experiences while taking a step towards my dream career.

Statement – Solidarity and partnership to save lives: how WHO/Europe worked with the European Union to respond to COVID-19

Partnerships in health are essential at the best of times, but absolutely critical during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the pandemic seemingly fading from memory – including that of WHO Member States across Europe and central Asia – we must remember that partnerships and collaboration are more crucial than ever. They help us to address the health emergencies we are facing now, and to better prepare for those that lie ahead, arriving faster than ever before.

A standout example of such collaboration is the trusted and reliable partnership between WHO/Europe and the European Union (EU), driven by our shared commitment to protecting the health and well-being of all people in this region.

This is a partnership that deserves to be recognized for saving lives during one of the biggest health emergencies in generations. It extends beyond emergencies, however, to encompass a range of public health priorities, strengthening health systems as a whole.

Our continuing joint efforts span numerous health initiatives, from harnessing digital technologies and innovation to reducing the harms caused by alcohol consumption.

This partnership has grown stronger with each collaborative endeavour, exemplified by our impactful support for the deployment of COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination in Eastern Partnership countries – a project that closes this month after 4 years. This initiative is a prime example of our effective cooperation throughout past and ongoing EU-funded projects.

Our immediate response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) was made possible through the EU-funded Solidarity for Health project, a joint initiative that addressed urgent needs such as securing personal protective equipment and training health-care workers and frontline responders in COVID-19 infection prevention.

This crucial initial step laid the groundwork for the complex task of vaccine deployment once COVID-19 vaccines became available.

In 2021, as countries battled the devastating second and third waves of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hope for relief rested on the prospect of vaccination. Immunization programmes in the Eastern Partnership countries faced significant challenges during the pandemic in maintaining high coverage with routine vaccinations and introducing COVID-19 vaccines.

Ensuring vaccine access and administering vaccines to diverse populations spread over vast distances in the 6 Eastern Partnership countries posed unprecedented logistical and operational hurdles, all amidst significant disruptions to essential public health services, including routine immunization.

The latest research shows that COVID-19 vaccines have, so far, saved an estimated 1.6 million lives in the WHO European Region since the rollout began in late 2020 – another testament to the power of vaccines.

However, access to COVID-19 vaccines, in part through the COVAX mechanism, was only the first step. Preparing for the vaccines’ arrival and effective use required action on multiple fronts, including ensuring public acceptance, establishing legal and regulatory frameworks, organizing supply chain logistics, strengthening surveillance capacities, managing vaccination data, and monitoring vaccine safety.

This endeavour involved a wide range of activities, from acquiring essential cold chain equipment for the transportation and storage of vaccines, to conducting behavioural insights research to identify barriers to vaccination.

With its €42 million budget, the joint EU–WHO project in the Eastern Partnership countries provided a lifeline, helping countries prepare for and deploy COVID-19 vaccines while also contributing to stronger national immunization systems and enhancing the capacities of the health workforce to deliver immunization services. By prioritizing those most at risk, including health workers, older individuals, and people with underlying health conditions, this project aimed to create lasting changes well beyond the pandemic.

In response to the additional challenges posed by the ongoing war in Ukraine, the project was adapted to meet emerging needs triggered by the crisis, demonstrating the resilience and flexibility of our partnership.

Pockets of under-vaccination and vulnerability to vaccine-preventable diseases across the WHO European Region, including the Eastern Partnership countries, were further exacerbated by the pandemic, leading to outbreaks of measles and pertussis in the past year. Through our collaborative efforts over the past 4 years, we succeeded in strengthening each country's capacity to achieve and sustain high routine immunization coverage and respond to public health emergencies in a timely fashion.

Additionally, we introduced educational modules to help children – and by extension the wider public – become more resilient to vaccine misinformation, thus contributing to more equitable access to immunization benefits as envisioned in the European Immunization Agenda 2030.

Ultimately, preventing disease outbreaks through immunization is fundamental to protecting public health and stability in our Region.

I extend my gratitude to our colleagues at the EU Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) for this invaluable opportunity to work together towards this critical goal. As we look to the future and the inevitable challenges ahead in this age of permacrisis, I am confident our partnership with the EU will continue to grow and benefit the entire WHO European Region.

Fashion communication personal statement example.

Fashion is an eternally evolving outlet for expression. I have a profound interest in how clothing can portray a message about one's self. I am particularly fascinated by the progression in the accessibility of garments since the fashion boom of the 1960s; I'm greatly inspired by the various British subcultural styles that have since been reshaped over the generations.

My love for fashion first formed whilst shopping in the city centre in my early years. The vast array of designs and colours never failed to captivate me and helped to ignite my interest in fashion. Over the years my appreciation for fashion, and its surrounding media, has expanded to include fashion journalism.

The role that journalism plays is crucial in transferring brands, concepts and opinions to the wider population. I am particularly excited to deepen my knowledge and understanding of this subject on the course.

Studying my A-levels has helped me to improve my analysis and evaluation skills through various essay work, whilst overall broadening and defining my own personal writing style. All my subjects are essay based which has helped to enhance my time management abilities in meeting deadlines and means I work well under pressure.

Sociology has opened my mind to the powerful relationship between society and the media. How society is heavily influenced by the media is immensely important, as it shows how easily it is to imprint ideas on the public.

This is especially important when broadcasting body images as they should encourage positivity for all body types and skin types.

Also, sociology has helped me increase my confidence in group projects and presentation skills. This is due to the high volume of learning that takes place through independent research and then is fed back to the class via presentation.

Studying Psychology has helped me develop my understanding of people, particularly in the area of considering how people interpret images and colours.

I'm currently working towards completing the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. It has been an amazing experience and has definitely helped me develop into a more confident person.

I've improved my teamwork skills through working as a group to navigate and achieve out expedition missions as part of the award. I participated in volunteering at a primary school, working with children in sport clubs, as part of the award. This was rewarding as I gained critical confidence as a successful team leader and it helped me in becoming a more self-motivated and driven individual.

In my spare time I enjoy expressing myself through paintings and drawings, which are mainly fashion oriented. I was recently inspired by the Versace spring/summer 2015 collection through the use of optic prints and blocks of clashing colours.

I have a strong passion for fashion writings and enjoy reading Vogue and various fashion blogs to keep up to date with the latest trends. I hope to future my knowledge and interest into online fashion media on the course.

A personal favourite blogger of mine is Tommy Ton, who captures the crème de la crème of street style looks from across the globe. His photography skills are other worldly and his fashion knowledge always shines through the projects he works on. Miranda Kerr is one of my favourite street style icons.

Her outfits are the perfect mix of casual pieces and elegance flares, making even everyday errands a fashion show. This view is reflected in the positive attention and applause she receives on fashion blogs over the world.

I aim to play a pivotal role in the future of the fashion scene and I feel this course will enable me to do so.

This is my personal statement for Fashion Communication and Promotion. When I was trying to write mine I found very few examples on what to include; I felt it would be helpful to upload mine online for all you future potential fashion students. I have been highly praised for the written quality and content so I feel it's a good example to take inspiration from. Good luck, but please remember no plagiarism!
